Version 2.1 · Effective: 2026-10-01

Nomad Budget is a record-keeping and analysis tool. Every number it produces is an estimate derived from the data you entered and from open statistical sources.

1. Not Investment or Financial Advice

Nothing in the App — no summary, chart, comparison or suggestion, whether it belongs to the free App or to Pro — constitutes investment advice, financial advice, portfolio management or an investment recommendation.

Investment advice is provided by licensed institutions taking each person's risk and return preferences into account. The App holds no such licence and makes no personalised assessment.

2. Exchange Rates

Rates come from open, free exchange-rate services, are cached, and refresh periodically. They are not real-time, not binding for trading, and not the rate your bank will apply.

While offline, or when the rate service is unreachable, the last known rate is used provisionally; once a connection is back, the entry is recalculated at its own date's rate, unless you have edited it in the meantime. Converted amounts may therefore differ for a while from what actually happens on your account.

For transactions dated in the past, the nearest available historical rate is used where one exists.

3. Cross-Country Price Comparisons

Price level comparisons are based on indices derived from World Bank ICP 2021 and Eurostat data, rolled forward with inflation and exchange rates. They are a rough estimate of country averages and do not reflect differences between cities, neighbourhoods or lifestyles.

Rent is left out of every comparison: no free official source publishes it on a comparable cross-country basis, so the App neither estimates it nor prices it on either side. Where a country publishes no price survey of its own, its levels are derived from a neighbouring economy and marked as such.

The country page's estimate of what a month there costs, and the note shown when you arrive in a new country, reprice your own past spending at that country's price levels. They assume you keep the same habits rather than adapting to local prices.

These comparisons are not sufficient on their own for a decision to relocate and are no substitute for local research.

4. The Map and the Route

The countries, lengths of stay and route the map shows are read from the dates and countries of your records, together with the visits and crossings you confirm. They are a reading of your spending, not a travel log: a stay is counted from the days you spent money, so it is a floor rather than a measurement, and a crossing the App suggests is a guess until you confirm it.

The country illustrations are generated, representative artwork, not photographs of any real place.

5. Not Tax or Legal Advice

The App performs no tax calculation and gives no tax, accounting or legal advice. Your records are not official books, invoices or tax returns. Consult a qualified accountant regarding your tax obligations.

6. Data Accuracy and Backups

Every figure in the App rests on the data you entered; missing or mistaken entries affect every summary and chart.

A draft made from a payment notification or message comes from reading its text automatically and may be wrong; check the amount, currency, date and category before you confirm it. Capture may not notice every payment; do not rely on it for the completeness of your records.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no absolute guarantee against data loss can be given. Keep a separate copy of records that are critical to you.

7. Your Decisions

The consequences of any spending, saving, relocation or investment decision you make on the basis of information in the App are yours alone. No liability is accepted for losses arising from such decisions.
