Nomad Budget

Terms of Use

Version 2.1 · Effective: 2026-10-01

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Nomad Budget mobile application and its related services (the "App"), provided by Rubeeks (rubeeks.co) ("we", "us").

By creating an account or using the App you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the App.

1. Definitions

  • App: the Nomad Budget mobile application, its backend services and all of their components.
  • User: the natural person who uses the App, with or without an account.
  • Content: the transactions, wallets, categories, budgets, goals, recurring rules, notes, visits and crossings a User enters into the App, including records brought in from a file the User chooses to import.
  • Pro: Nomad Budget Pro, the optional paid subscription described in the "Pro Subscription and Fees" section.

2. What the Service Is

Nomad Budget is a record-keeping and analysis tool for multi-currency personal budgeting. It stores the data you enter, converts it between currencies, and produces summaries, charts, a map of the countries you have spent in and a route between them from it.

The App is not a bank, payment institution, electronic money institution or investment firm. It does not connect to any bank account, does not move or hold money, and does not act as an intermediary. Every record is entered or confirmed by you: even a payment the App reads from a notification or a Shortcuts automation does not become a record until you confirm it (see "Capturing Payments").

3. Accounts and Security

To create an account you must be at least 18 years old, or act with the consent of your parent or guardian. The App is not directed at people under 18.

If you create a full account, you must register with a valid email address that belongs to you.

You may also create an account with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. The provider then confirms your identity to us and passes on an address: with Google, the address of your Google account; with Apple, your own or the private relay address you asked Apple to substitute for it. No password exists for such an account, so there is none for you to keep secret and none for us to hold.

You may also use the App as a guest, without an account. A guest session lives only on the device it was started on: there is no email address and no password to sign back in with, so signing out of it — or losing the device, or uninstalling the App — ends that account and everything in it for good. You can turn a guest session into a full account at any time without losing anything you have entered. Anything that involves another person (sharing a wallet, or joining an invitation) requires a full account.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password immediately and notify us at nomadbudget@rubeeks.co.

One person, one account: you may not transfer or share your account with third parties.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the App, you agree not to:

  • Use it for any unlawful purpose or in breach of applicable law.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or circumvent any security measure.
  • Place an unreasonable load on the services through automated tools, or attempt to disrupt them.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or create unauthorised derivative works of the App (mandatory statutory exceptions reserved).
  • Process third parties' personal data unlawfully through the App.

5. Your Content

All Content you enter belongs to you. We claim no ownership over it.

You grant us permission to process your Content solely so that we can provide the service to you — storing it, syncing it, converting it and producing summaries and charts. This permission is limited to providing the service: we do not use your Content for marketing, and we do not sell or share it.

You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of your Content.

6. Importing Your History

You can bring records in from a CSV or Excel file — an export from another app or a sheet of your own. The file is opened through your device's file picker and read on the device; only the rows you confirm are written to your records, as ordinary transactions you can edit or delete afterwards. The file itself is never uploaded or kept.

You are responsible for having the right to use the file you import and for the accuracy of what it contains. Names of other services whose exports the App recognises belong to their owners; the App is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

With Pro you can also take your records out as a CSV file. The file is created on your device and goes only where you send it from your device's share sheet; we do not receive or keep a copy. Exporting in the App is not the only way to get your data: your right to data portability does not depend on Pro (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Capturing Payments

If you wish, the App can prepare draft entries from the payments your bank or wallet app tells you about. The feature is off by default and works only if you turn it on: on Android, by granting the device's notification access and choosing in the App which sources are read (bank text messages and/or apps you pick); on iOS, by setting up a Shortcuts automation yourself that passes a payment or a message to the App.

The message is interpreted on your device and waits as a draft. A draft is not written to your records until you check it in the filled-in entry form and save it; drafts you do not confirm are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Reading messages is automatic and can be wrong: the amount, currency, merchant, date or kind of transaction may be misread, or a payment may not be noticed at all. Checking a draft before you save it is your responsibility. Banks and apps may change their message formats without notice; the feature is not promised to work with any particular bank or app, and the App is not affiliated with them.

You can turn the feature off at any time with the switches in the App, in your device's notification access settings, or by deleting the Shortcuts automation.

8. Sharing a Wallet

You can invite other people into wallets of your own. Nothing is shared until you create an invitation yourself; there is no sharing by default.

There are two kinds of invitation, and either can be revoked at any time before it is used. A QR code is for showing face to face: it lasts 15 minutes, can be used once, and whoever scans it joins the wallets it names directly — so treat it as a key and let only the person you mean to invite scan it. A link is for sending in a message: it lasts 7 days and lets nobody in on its own — whoever uses it only sends a request to join, and they reach none of your wallets unless you see their display name and approve the request. Only one request can be approved per link, and revoking a link cancels its pending requests too.

Someone you let in sees that wallet's records in full, and an editor can also add and change them. You remain responsible for what you choose to share; the person you invite is responsible for what they do with it.

You may remove a member at any time and their access ends immediately, and a member may leave the same way. Removing someone does not undo what they have already seen.

Both sides of a share need a full account: a guest session can neither invite nor join, because the other person would otherwise be trusting an account that cannot be reached again.

9. Pro Subscription and Fees

The App can be used free of charge and carries no advertising. Nomad Budget Pro ("Pro") is an optional, paid subscription that unlocks additional features. What Pro includes is described on the Pro screen in the App at the time you subscribe.

Pro is offered as a monthly and a yearly plan. The price of each, in your local currency and including any taxes the store applies, is shown in the App before you confirm the purchase. The yearly plan may be offered to new subscribers with a free trial; its length is shown on the Pro screen before you confirm the purchase. The store decides whether you are eligible, and a trial can generally be used once per store account. Nothing is charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before), the subscription converts to the paid yearly plan when the trial ends and the yearly price is charged. If you cancel during the trial, Pro stays active until the trial ends and nothing is charged.

Payment is taken by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), from the account you use with that store, when you confirm the purchase. The store's own terms of sale apply to the payment. We never see or store your card or bank details.

  • Automatic renewal: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, for a period of the same length and at the then-current price, and the store charges your account for it — unless you cancel before the renewal. On the App Store, that means at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, which the "Manage subscription" button on the Pro screen opens. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the App, or your account, does not cancel a subscription — it has to be cancelled in the store.
  • Refunds: payments are collected by Apple or Google, so refund requests are made to them and decided under their policies; we cannot issue refunds directly. Because Pro is a digital service that starts as soon as you subscribe, to the extent the law allows the statutory right of withdrawal ends once that supply has begun. Any mandatory consumer rights you have are unaffected.
  • Price changes: if the price of a plan changes, you will be told in advance as the store's rules require, and where the store asks for your agreement the new price applies only once you have given it.

Pro belongs to the Nomad Budget account you are signed into when you subscribe, and is available on every device where you sign in to that account. "Restore purchases" on the Pro screen attaches a subscription made with your store account to the account you are signed into. A guest session cannot subscribe: before a purchase you are asked to link the session to an account with Apple, Google or email, because signing out of a guest session ends that account. Linking does not change your account; your data stays as it is.

The free plan has some limits (for example the number of goals, recurring transactions or shared wallets), and some features are part of Pro only (for example category and country budgets, and exporting your records as a CSV file; a monthly total budget is free); the current limits are shown in the App when you reach one. Keeping records — adding entries, country wallets, currencies and offline use — is never limited on any plan.

If Pro ends (by cancellation, non-renewal or refund), none of your data is deleted: the goals, recurring transactions, shares, budgets and other records you created while on Pro stay in place and can still be viewed and edited. Only creating new ones beyond the free plan's limits is not possible, and Pro-only insights are locked again.

We may change which features Pro includes. A change that takes away something you are paying for applies no earlier than your next renewal, so that you can cancel before it. Nothing will be charged for use you have already made of a feature while it was free.

10. Third-Party Services and Data

The App relies on third-party infrastructure and data sources: Supabase Inc. for hosting and authentication, Apple or Google where you choose to sign in with your Apple ID or Google account, the App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat for Pro subscriptions, Expo together with Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM) for delivering notifications you have allowed, open exchange-rate services for live rates, open data published by official statistical institutions for cross-country price comparisons, and public-domain imagery and geometry from NASA and Natural Earth for the globe.

The availability, timeliness and accuracy of these sources are outside our control. See the "Licenses and Data Sources" document for the full list and their licences.

11. Availability and Changes

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. Maintenance, updates, infrastructure failures and events beyond our control may cause interruptions.

We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable advance notice by email so that you can export your data.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, no warranties of any kind are given, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability and freedom from error.

The calculations, conversions, estimates and comparisons the App produces are informational. See the "Financial Disclaimer" document for detail.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, business interruption, or indirect or consequential damages.

The consequences of any financial decision you make on the basis of data in the App are yours alone.

Nothing in this section limits liability for our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any non-waivable rights you have under consumer protection law.

14. Closing Your Account

You can close your account at any time from within the App: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all of your data and cannot be undone. Wallets you had shared disappear for the people you shared them with at the same moment.

A guest session is closed by signing out of it, which does the same thing: with no email and no password there is nothing left to sign back in with, so signing out erases that account and its records.

Closing your account does not cancel a Pro subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings first, or the store will keep renewing it. Closing the account does not by itself give rise to a refund.

We may suspend or terminate an account in case of serious or repeated breach of these Terms. Where legally possible we will notify you first and give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you in the App or by email before they take effect, and ask for your acceptance again where required.

Continuing to use the App after such notice means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you may close your account.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of the Republic of Türkiye have jurisdiction over disputes.

Users who qualify as consumers may, within the applicable monetary thresholds, apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee or the Consumer Court at their place of residence. Users resident in the European Union retain the rights granted by the mandatory consumer provisions of their own country.
